HYS: Should Spurs swoop for Adam Smith?

According to reports from Mirror Football, Tottenham Hotspur are seemingly eyeing Bournemouth right-back Adam Smith as a potential replacement for Kyle Walker, whose future at White Hart Lane has been thrown into doubt in recent weeks.

The 26-year-old is enjoying a solid season at the Vitality Stadium, boasting the joint-most assists of any Premier League defender alongside Walker, and has a connection to the north London club, having risen through the ranks there before joining the Cherries three years ago.

Likewise, Smith seems like a pretty good fit for Mauricio Pochettino’s philosophy, which requires the full-backs to bomb forward and contribute offensively. Defensively, however, the right-back can be a liability at times and he’s not always been a guaranteed starter under Eddie Howe.

So, Lilywhites fans, would you back a summer swoop for the 5 foot 11 defender, or should the club look elsewhere to find Walker’s replacement should he leave this summer? Let us know by voting below…
