HYS: Who was Celtic’s Man of the Match vs Astana?

Celtic’s bid to qualify for the Champions League proper took a gigantic step in the right direction last night as Brendan Rodgers’ boys secured a dominant 5-0 win over Astana at Celtic Park.

That’s not only given the Bhoys a huge lead to take into the second leg but also ruled out the possibility of being undone by away goals – the Kazakhstan outfit will now have to score six times without conceding on their own patch to progress to the next round.

The match was book-ended by two own goals in the 32nd minute and the 88th, although the first was an almost inevitable consequence of Tom Rogic’s fleet-footed brilliance and the second was a wicked deflection from a Leigh Griffiths shot.

The conclusive goals in between were provided by brace-bagging winger-forward Scott Sinclair and Scotland international James Forrest. Nir Bitton, meanwhile, was imperious at centre-back, stifling breaks whilst building play from deep, and Oliver Ntcham was crucial in maintaining control over the engine room.

So, Celtic fans, who deserves the Man of the Match award from the 5-0 romping over Astana? Let us know by voting below…
