In stark contrast to the rest of the Scottish Premiership, dominant leaders Celtic are constantly looking like improving on pretty much every front.
Under Brendan Rodgers, the Bhoys look on course to make it a clean sweep of domestic trophies this season, while also remaining unbeaten in doing so. Still, as wonderful a campaign as it’s been at Parkhead, there’s little doubt the SPFL champions will be wanting to improve on the European front next time out.
While the Hoops were able to get over their initial trouncing at the hands of Barcelona, progression out of the group stages in the Champions League will surely be the next goal Rodgers sets him himself and the green and white cause.
Still, the financial situation in Scotland compared to other clubs fighting for the same thing may make life difficult. If the former Liverpool coach is going to keep the likes of Moussa Dembele, Kieran Tierney and Scott Sinclair in Glasgow, he’ll need to find a clever way to improve his side on a relatively low budget, compared to continental rivals.
So, could a look to the Football League be a wise move for Celtic? Dembele has proved to be a rip-roaring success since moving from Fulham and we’ve seen what the likes of Dele Alli and Jamie Vardy have done south of the border after starting their careers lower down the pyramid.
With that in mind, a look to the recently announced Championship Team of the Season provides an interesting question. Would you, as Celtic fans, sign any of these?
