Despite the very public protests from some Everton fans against Farhad Moshiri and his ownership of the club this season, there's no denying the significant amount of money he has put in to bring new players to Goodison Park over the years since he became a major shareholder back in February 2016.

Whether the majority of Everton's recruitment under Moshiri has been successful or not is up for debate, however, one transfer that has undoubtedly been a success for the Toffees is their deal for striker Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

Having paid just £1.5m for the Englishman back in the 2016 summer transfer window from Sheffield United, the 24-year-old has gone on to score 56 goals and provide 16 assists in 180 appearances across all competitions.

Last season saw the striker prove just what an important figure he is for the Toffees by racking up 16 goals in 33 league appearances and an overall performance rating of 7.17/10, making him their second-highest rated player behind James Rodriguez according to WhoScored.

Despite missing a significant chunk of the current season with a toe injury, Calvert-Lewin has still managed to show how crucial he is for the team by scoring three goals in seven league appearances and earning an overall rating of 7.1/10 from WhoScored, placing him as the highest-rated Everton player at this stage of the campaign.

Shortly after joining Everton, Transfermarkt had the centre-forward's market value listed as £900k, whereas it has now shot up by 2600% and currently stands at a massive £40.5m, highlighting just how much of a good bit of business it was from the Merseyside club to bring him to Goodison.

Labelled as a "fabulous" player in the past by Graeme Souness, it's not a stretch to say that Everton would be in a better position than they're in right now had they had a fully fit Calvert-Lewin at their disposal for the entirety of the season so far.

Moving forward, if the striker can start scoring goals again on a regular basis under Frank Lampard's management, who also knows a thing or two about scoring goals with a total of 177 league goals to his name, he would give Everton a massive chance of moving away from the relegation zone and ending the season on a high note.
