Everton have been renowned for their transfer disasters since Farhad Moshiri became the majority stakeholder at Goodison Park in 2016, with over £500m spent on signings and next to nothing to show from it apart from a humiliating relegation scrap last season.

However, on the rare occasion, the powers at the club do get their recruitment and their business right something we have seen this season so far in the Premier League with Everton looking a much stronger side following the signing of eight new players in the summer.

When it comes to players that haven't offered anything to the club, Everton have had many that have drained the club financially with little contribution but there is one player that former Sporting Director Marcel Brands played a blinder on if everything goes to plan over the next few months.

Moise Kean was signed back in 2019 for an initial fee of £25m but after 39 appearances, four goals and two assists for Everton, the centre-forward has spent most of his contract out on loan with Paris Saint-Germain and has been with Juventus since 2021.

The 22-year-old striker hasn't had the easiest career and has found himself falling out of favour in his time spent at Juve albeit tallying up 71 appearances, 14 goals and three assists, and has come under a lot of criticism as a result of his lack of goals and inconsistent performances.

Kean was branded "useless" by Italian journalist Tancredi Palmeri earlier this year following Juventus' loss to Inter Milan in the Supercoppa Italiana back in January:

“Kean is useless.

“He could probably start for someone like Spezia or in another team that’s fighting relegation. That’s his level."

According to Calciomercato, the Serie A club will spend €38m (£34m) in total as a result of their obligation to buy the Italy international next summer, meaning that Everton will make a 36% profit on what they originally paid for the player who has been rarely seen at Goodison Park.

With that being said, the business done by Brands on Kean was fantastic and now Everton can use that money next summer to further strengthen and improve their squad as they endeavour to regain a stable position in the Premier League.
