Isco would not be an ideal fit for Everton under Sean Dyche, journalist Paul Brown has claimed.

What's the word?

The Spaniard has been linked with a move to Goodison Park, as he remains a free agent following the termination of his contract at Sevilla.

A move to Union Berlin collapsed in January as he failed his medical, but given that Everton failed to bring in a single player in the window, they have been mooted as a possible destination for the former Real Madrid star.

However, the recent appointment of Sean Dyche may put these rumours to bed, as the midfielder is far from the usual type of player Dyche tends to sign.

Speaking to GiveMeSport, Brown claimed that Dyche may not want Isco at the club, even if those above him do.

"Now, his star has waned a little bit, and while he still has a name that attracts attention and I’m sure might be quite attractive to someone like Farhad Moshiri, who can then say, ‘I’ve signed a big name’, I fail to see how a player like Isco could possibly fit at Everton under Sean Dyche," he stated.

"He is just not a Sean Dyche type of player at all.”

Not a worthwhile deal

Isco's failed move to the Bundesliga should raise some red flags about his current fitness and ability to play in the Premier League, and even when match-fit, he wouldn't have suited Dyche's style of play at all.

Dyche typically prefers a 4-4-2 formation, with two strikers, and powerful midfielders in the middle. Isco, who usually plays as a creative number ten behind the centre-forward, may not fit into this formation, nor would he thrive in Everton's now defensive style, with the Toffees recording 30% possession in Dyche's first game against Arsenal.

The 30-year-old recorded 57 assists in 353 appearances for Real Madrid, and whilst he would come with a lot of pedigree, he will likely struggle to cope with the high demands required to play under Dyche.
