Everton signed eight new players this summer with Frank Lampard managing his first full transfer window at Goodison Park, although the manager didn't complete all the transfers he would've liked to.

Improving the attacking threat was something that was a huge priority for the club right up until the final hours and minutes of Deadline Day following the exit of Richarlison, the concern surrounding Anthony Gordon's future and the injury issues Dominic Calvert-Lewin has been suffering from over the last few months.

Dwight McNeil and Neal Maupay were two attacking players brought in to bolster the forward line this summer, however, Everton remain winless in the Premier League after six games played with just four points tallied up and are currently 16th in the league table.

As a result, Farhad Moshiri could be heading for disaster after not adding even more quality to the final third as the Toffees attempt to repair the problems of the past that led to a relegation scrap at the bottom of the table last season.

One player that Everton missed out on is Ajax Amsterdam star Mohammed Kudus, who came very close to making the move to Merseyside this summer and after his performances in the first few weeks of the new season, it will be something that could leave Moshiri feeling full of regret.

Kudus agreed on personal terms with the Toffees late last month and reportedly went on strike to push a deal through before the transfer window slammed shut on the 1st of September, however, it wasn't meant to be and the young player remains in the Eredivisie.

Despite the midfielder's desperation for a move it hasn't translated on the pitch with the 22-year-old scoring six goals and delivering one assist already over nine appearances this season, including three goal contributions in Ajax's first two Champions League group games.

The attacking midfield machine, who had a £15m Everton bid for him rejected by his current club, has drawn praise from BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand after his wonder strike against Liverpool earlier this week, with the former Manchester United star hailing the goal "devastating" from Kudus, whilst manager Jurgen Klopp dubbed the young midfielder's efforts "incredible".

Although Everton missed out on Kudus in the summer, it has been reported the club remain keen to sign the Ghanaian international and may reignite their interest in the winter transfer window.

With that being said, if Moshiri does get a second chance to sign the talented attacking midfielder in a few months' time the opportunity should not be missed as he could have a fantastic impact on the second half of Everton's season if he can continue his good form.
