BT Sport pundit Rio Ferdinand has said that he is "interested" to see how new Everton manager Sean Dyche gets the best out of Dominic Calvert-Lewin.

What's the word?

With Frank Lampard sacked, the club embarked on a new era over the weekend and got off to the best possible start as they beat league leaders Arsenal 1-0 at home.

That performance and display will have no doubt given the Toffees a great boost as they push to turn around their season and avoid Premier League relegation.

Calvert-Lewin played 62 minutes against the Gunners and will hope that he can lead the line for Everton over the coming months as he looks to discover his best form.

While speaking about Dyche's arrival on Rio Ferdinand Presents FIVE, the host said: "Sean Dyche probably hasn't had that profile of player to work with ever in his career... a forward who was as mobile and as athletic as somebody like Dominic Calvert-Lewin when he's fit.

"To have those tools, he has not worked with that before and I'm interested to see how he gets the best out of that."

Dream team?

Calvert-Lewin certainly struggled to find his best form under Lampard. Indeed, in 23 appearances for his former boss, he scored just three goals.

Against Arsenal, the striker didn't get on the scoresheet but he did, however, make a positive impact in the game. For instance, in the 90min player ratings, they noted that he wasn't at his best in front of goal but  "provided everything else" in a 7/10 performance.

With just 16 league goals in total this season, only Wolves (15) have scored few than Everton and so Dyche will need to fix that if he wants the team to avoid the drop.

In his career, the manager has never worked with a truly prolific goalscorer but the likes of Sam Vokes, Chris Wood and Ashley Barnes all found the net with decent regularity at Burnley.

Calvert-Lewin is arguably a little more athletic than those players and so, under Dyche, he could potentially be moulded into a real weapon for Everton in the near future.
