Everton are reportedly interested in signing PSV Eindhoven youngster Noni Madueke in the January transfer window and his arrival at Goodison Park could allow Frank Lampard to finally ditch Dwight McNeil.

According to 90min, a number of Premier League clubs including the Toffees have voiced an interest in the 20-year-old winger, who has caught the eye since swapping England for the Eredivisie.

In total, the winger has made 79 senior appearances for the Dutch side, contributing an impressive 20 goals and 14 assists in that time, so he could be the next big-money exit from Boeren, following in the footsteps of Cody Gakpo, who excelled in the Netherlands before his recent move to Liverpool.

Although he has been plagued with minor injuries since his move to PSV, he was still impressive on his rare appearances last season, notching three goals and three assists in 18 Eredivisie appearances, earning a solid 6.97 rating from WhoScored for his performances.

When the Englishman was first breaking into the team at the Phillips Stadion, he earned a lot of praise from former midfielder Tommie van de Leegte when speaking to Dutch radio station Omroep Brabant in 2020.

He said (via GOAL): “He’s fast and has the capability to trick his opponent. He brings creativity and is very explosive in his actions. That’s what PSV needs."

Reports in the media have suggested that Madueke could cost as much as £40m but it is clear that the Toffees need to seriously invest if they are going to avoid an embarrassing relegation to the Championship this season.

Madueke is a promising young talent and could offer far more than the disappointing McNeil on the wing considering their respective returns in recent seasons, so Lampard should do all he can to bring him to Goodison Park this month.
