While hopes of survival have been renewed following the appointment of Sean Dyche as manager, Everton supporters undoubtedly remain deeply disappointed with their team's continued woes, having seen their club reduced to mere relegation contenders in the past couple of seasons.

Dubbed the "worst-run club in the country" by Sky Sports pundit Jamie Carragher, the Toffees appear to have made numerous mistakes both on and off the field over the past few years, with the ex-Liverpool stalwart stating that owner Farhad Moshiri simply "doesn't know what he's doing".

One particular area of concern has been the club's transfer dealings, with the Merseysiders having splashed the erratically at times - £692m has been spent during the Moshiri regime - while also being left to rue notable outgoings.

In terms of the latter category, current Fulham star Antonee Robinson is one such figure who has likely left those at Goodison Park regretting their decision to allow the United States international to depart for Wigan Athletic in 2019, with the 25-year-old now catching the eye of the Premier League's elite as a result of his standout displays at Craven Cottage.

How is Robinson getting on at Fulham?

The 6 foot speedster had been part of the Toffees' youth setup from the age of 11 before being allowed to depart for the Latics on a permanent deal just over four years ago, having previously spent time on loan at the DW Stadium, as well as with Bolton Wanderers.

That move away from his parent club swiftly paid off for the Milton Keynes native as he soon caught the eye of Serie A giants AC Milan in January 2020, albeit with that proposed £6m move to Italy ultimately collapsing due to problems surrounding the left-back's medical.

Having gone on to join the Cottagers later that year for a fee of around £2m - reportedly snubbing a return to Merseyside in the process - Robinson has since played a vital role in a promotion-winning campaign for the west London outfit, racking up 91 appearances in all competitions to date.

The 33-cap machine has been particularly impressive in the current campaign for Marco Silva's high-flying Fulham, averaging 1.5 tackles and 1.3 interceptions per game across his 21 top-flight outings while helping his team to record eight clean sheets in that time.

The £25k-per-week dynamo also ranks in the top 10% in Europe's big five leagues among players in his position for progressive carries as a marker of his relentless attacking threat, with current Everton full-back Vitaliy Mykolenko ranking in the bottom 10% for that same metric.

Lauded by Alexandre Gangue-Ruzic as "electric" and "fun to watch" during his stint at the World Cup in Qatar, Robinson has impressed to such an extent that he is now said to be of interest to both Newcastle United and Manchester City ahead of the summer transfer window.

Having reportedly sold the American for around £2m in 2019, according to the Liverpool Echo, Everton could well see the defender move elsewhere for a fee of close to £35m, showcasing the quality talent that Moshiri and co let slip through their fingers.

It will no doubt sting for those of a Toffees persuasion to see a player who was never given a chance at Goodison Park - after failing to make a first-team appearance - now flourishing elsewhere.
