Sean Dyche looks to be one of the favourites to take over from Frank Lampard at Everton and the former Burnley boss could be exactly what the Toffees need right now.

The Merseyside club's last win came on October 1st and unsurprisingly they find themselves in yet another relegation battle after years of mismanagement both on and off the pitch.

There will be a number of candidates who Farhad Moshiri will be considering as Lampard's successor but if they are to have any hope of staying in the Premier League they need a manager with experience in relegation battles.

Therefore, it is no surprise that Dyche is one of the main candidates, given his vast experience with keeping Burnley in the top flight on a low budget, before he was eventually sacked last season, with the Clarets eventually succumbing to the drop.

In a recent interview with Football FanCast, Pete O'Rourke shared his views on a potential Everton move for Dyche.

He said:

"Well if they can't get Marcelo Bielsa, I think Sean Dyche would be a great alternative.

"Obviously, different styles of football and methods of football but I think Sean Dyche proved at Burnley he can get the best out of what he is working with as he did at Burnley on a low budget. He ensured they stayed in the Premier League for a number of seasons as well.

"Although people might say the style of football isn't pretty, it is effective. I think that's what Everton need right now. They need someone to come in and have an immediate impact, making Everton organised and hard to beat. To get them picking up points and moving away from trouble."

During Dyche's spell at Turf Moor, he would take charge of 425 games, averaging a solid 1.24 points per game, which included a title-winning campaign in the Championship and multiple years of overachievement with the Lancashire side, which was labelled "phenomenal" by Arsenal boss Mikel Arteta last year.

Lampard would average just one point per game during his 44 matches in charge at Goodison Park and therefore, Dyche could be a big upgrade from that perspective and hopefully deliver the form needed to keep Everton in the Premier League.

He is certainly a lower-risk option than the likes of Bielsa, who would perhaps struggle to implement his desired style of play in such a short period of time, so Moshiri should definitely be considering a serious approach for the 51-year-old in the next few days.
