Anthony Gordon has arrived for Everton training this morning, and this could indicate that he is prepared to stay at the club, Sky Sports reporter Vinny O'Connor has claimed.

What's the word?

Gordon has been absent for the last few days of training as he attempted to engineer a move away from the club, with Newcastle strongly interested.

Reports are now emerging that Sean Dyche is set to be appointed as Frank Lampard's successor as Everton manager, and Gordon returning to training after his absence could mean he is prepared to stay under the new coach.

Speaking live on Sky Sports News, O'Connor revealed that Gordon had arrived for training, and hinted that his poor relations with the club right now could be set to improve.

"There's a bit of a surprise, it seems Anthony Gordon has just made his way into the training ground here," O'Connor stated from Finch Farm.

"An indication maybe that relations are actually thawing a little bit, it's taken us a little bit by surprise, but Anthony Gordon has just arrived at the training ground."

A quick resolution needed

With just five days left of the transfer window, the Gordon situation needs to be sorted out as soon as possible.

If he is to leave, then Everton will need as much time as possible to bring replacements in with the money they would receive from a sale, with their precarious position in the Premier League table.

Everton are yet to make a transfer this window, but with Sean Dyche now expected to take charge as manager, he may be able to find a late replacement. Interestingly, the Express have created a list of five potential replacements, which includes Hakim Ziyech and Jack Harrison, though the difficulty will be whether the Toffees can get a deal done without any issues as the deadline draws closer.
