Everton will be looking to bounce back from back-to-back defeats when they take on Newcastle United at St James' Park on Wednesday evening.

Frank Lampard's side travel to take on the Toon after losing against Tottenham Hotspur and Manchester United in each of their last two fixtures, which has seen them drop back within touching distance of the relegation places.

The Toffees have just two wins to their name in the Premier League this season, so they will have to be at their best if they are going to earn three points against Eddie Howe's side.

The Magpies have contrasting fortunes and look set to challenge for a European spot this season after a strong start to the new campaign.

Here is how Football FanCast expects Everton to line up against Newcastle, with three changes from the side that started against Spurs last time out.

Jordan Pickford unsurprisingly keeps his place in goal, with Everton the top performers in terms of prevented goals so far this season, overperforming by 6.16 goals according to Understat.

After last week saw the Toffees fail to register a single shot on target against Spurs, Lampard should revert back to a 4-3-3 formation against Newcastle.

Seamus Coleman and Vitalii Mykolenko start at full-back, with Conor Coady and James Tarkowski continuing their partnership in the heart of Lampard's defence.

There is one change in midfield as Abdoulaye Doucoure comes in for Idrissa Gueye in the hope that he can provide some more attacking impetus.

He is joined by Amadou Onana and Alex Iwobi, both of whom are impressing in the Toffees' side this season, with WhoScored ranking both in the top seven performers in Lampard's side.

There are two changes in attack, as Neal Maupay drops out with Dominic Calvert-Lewin replacing him, hoping he can provide more of a focal point going forward.

Dwight McNeil also drops to the bench, as he has struggled to improve upon his "below average" performances from last season, in the words of the player himself. That sees Anthony Gordon replace him after his return from suspension, while Demarai Gray completes the attack.
