When Everton set out on their journey with Carlo Ancelotti at the helm, he made the target for the Toffees to reach European football again.

Indeed, that goal may well be achieved on Sunday when they face Manchester City.

It won’t be an easy task for the Goodison Park outfit, especially as they face the new Premier League champions.

Though, with the title already in their hands, they could well take their foot off the gas and hand Everton an advantage in their race for a place on the continental stage.

With such a pivotal match on the line, how will Ancelotti’s starting XI look?

Here’s what we’re predicting...

We’re tipping the Toffees to make just the two changes to the starting XI on Sunday afternoon with Everton needing a result.

James Rodriguez will miss the final game of the season with a calf problem while club captain Seamus Coleman will also be absent.

As a result, we anticipate Ben Godfrey will move across from centre-back into a position on the right-hand side.

With that in mind, Mason Holgate returns to the starting XI in the backline.

He was lumped off at half-time in their defeat to Sheffield United and was also at fault for Ollie Watkins’ goal when they lost to Aston Villa. He will need to be much improved if he’s given another start against an impressive Man City attack.

The final change comes in the forward line where Gylfi Sigurdsson drops out despite his assist against Wolves last time out.

His form has been lacking in recent weeks with just two goals in his last 12 outings. Consequently, £100k-per-week earner Alex Iwobi could come into the team to offer Ancelotti’s side more pace and energy on the counter-attack.

That part of their game will be imperative this weekend with the Citizens expected to dominate possession.

Richarlison keeps his spot in attack after scoring for the first time since March in the victory over Wolves.

AND in other news, Everton can find their next DCL by signing 17y/o who's been "scoring goals all season"...
