For context, that’s a higher speed than any player managed at the recent European Championships. Yes, Saint-Maximin is quicker than the likes of Kylian Mbappe, Raheem Sterling and Kyle Walker. Breathtaking.
Speaking about the 24-year-old last term, Steve Bruce said: “He gets you off your seat. He can be hard work at times to manage, don’t get me wrong, but he’s a really wonderful talent.”
The start of that quote is identical to the words muttered about Kanchelskis so it’s easy to see where the comparisons lie.
They both possess jaw-dropping pace as footballers and have beaten defenders with absolute ease.
It’s safe to say the Magpies forward would be a cracking piece of business for Rafa Benitez, even at the price tag touted.
