Everton: Alan Myers makes transfer claim

Everton have only made one signing so far this summer with former Burnley defender James Tarkowski joining the Merseyside club, and now a new update from a reliable source has been revealed on the club’s further plans.

What’s the latest?

Everton insider and former Toffees communications director Alan Myers has responded to a supporter’s concern about the lack of incoming transfers this summer.

Myers was quick to reassure the supporter on signings, with a seven-word response on Twitter;

“There will be signings, has to be”

Supporters will be excited

It is no secret that Everton struggled in the Premier League last season in a relegation scrap that saw the side only secure survival in the penultimate game of the season, so supporters will be excited that Myers has claimed that there will be signings.

There is certainly room for improvement at Goodison Park as the Toffees will not want to find themselves repeating the mistakes of the past going into the new Premier League campaign next month, and the desperation for reinforcements has now heightened due to Richarlison’s exit.

Firstly, where did Everton finish in the Premier League?

The Brazilian winger has now completed his move to Tottenham Hotspur in a deal worth £60m, leaving Frank Lampard with a gaping hole in his attacking threat and there is no doubt at all that the former Chelsea boss will want to acquire a replacement before they return to action.

Lampard has spoken out via the club website upon his return to pre-season training, and has given an insight on the club’s recruitment plans and expectations:

“It will be a big challenge for me and the Club… to make sure we go in the right direction because it is clear we don’t want to be fighting relegation and recruitment will be a big part of that.”

Do you think Everton need more signings?

With that being said, the powers at Goodison Park must not only get their recruitment right this summer but also Farhad Moshiri must act fast so that the Toffees boss can get his squad organised and prepared ahead of next season to ensure that the team can get off to a good start putting the nightmarish past behind them.

Therefore, those around the blue side of Merseyside should be absolutely buzzing by Myers’ reassuring seven words.
