Everton have been linked with a move for Eintracht Frankfurt star Daichi Kamada recently and if he were to move to Goodison Park in January, he could prove to be Frank Lampard's own version of Newcastle United star Miguel Almiron.

Reports have suggested that the Toffees are keen on signing the Japan international in January after his impressive performances in the Bundesliga and Champions League with Frankfurt.

Kamada is out of contract at the end of the season, meaning Everton could approach him on a pre-contract deal in January, or bring him to the Premier League for a bargain fee.

Should he join up with Lampard's side in the winter transfer window, he will be hoping to have a similar impact to the one Almiron has had with Eddie Howe's side this season.

The Paraguayan has been one of the surprise stars in the Premier League and was nominated for October's player of the month recently. That award would be fine reward for a man who has found the net on seven occasions this term.

As per FBRef, the Newcastle winger is the third-most similar player to Kamada in terms of style of play, which suggests that the Eintracht Frankfurt man could have a comparable impact in the top flight with the Toffees.

The two players have registered extremely similar numbers this season in terms of non-penalty expected goals per game (both 0.58), completed passes (350 vs 348) and tackles (21 vs 19).

This emphasises just how impressive Kamada has been in the Bundesliga this season, remaining clam in possession but also contributing from a defensive point of view. His performances in Germany's top flight have seen him earning a superb average rating of 7.21 from WhoScored, with seven goals and two assists to his name in just 11 appearances.

For comparison, the top-rated performer in Everton's side according to WhoScored (to have made more than one start) this season is Jordan Pickford with a 7.06 rating, while Anthony Gordon is the top scorer with only three to his name.

Journalist Josh Bunting was full of praise for the 26-year-old Frankfurt start earlier this year, writing:

"Daichi Kamada is a joy to watch, breaks the lines so well. Intelligent movement in and around the box and he gets goals. He’s been superb for Eintracht Frankfurt tonight, two goals and he’s been the real driving force with his movement. Incredible talent, very composed."

Therefore, considering his form this season, his similarity with Almiron, and the bargain fee that he could be available for, Lampard should surely be looking to bring Kamada to Goodison Park in January.
