Frank Lampard has valuable connections at Chelsea after becoming a player legend at the club and also managing the side before Everton, and now he could be about to use those connections in the summer transfer window to benefit his squad at Goodison Park.

What's the latest?

According to transfer insider Dean Jones, the former Chelsea boss is interested in opening talks with Chelsea youngsters Armando Broja and Conor Gallagher this summer, in a bid to get them a move to Everton this summer.

Jones told GIVEMESPORT:

“Lampard will fall back on what he knows and what he’s good at – that’s going back to Chelsea and looking at players he knew in the set-up there.

“With the Conor Gallagher situation and Armando Broja, they’ll definitely be two players that he will look to have conversations with over what he sees the future being for them at Chelsea.”

A potential sticking point could be the cost of the players with Gallagher believed to be rated at £50m and Broja at £57.8m.

Supporters will be excited

There is no doubt that the prospect of potentially signing two of the most promising young players in the Premier League this season will excite Everton supporters and having the advantage of a manager with such influence and attraction with Chelsea players will be a huge bonus.

Lampard gave Broja his Premier League debut at Chelsea back in March 2020 ironically against the Toffees in a 4-0 victory for his former club, and the 20-year-old forward has been shining at Southampton on loan this season.

Broja has scored six goals, created two big chances and taken 1.4 shots per game in 32 appearances in the Premier League this season, and was the second highest goal scorer for the Saints with nine goals in all competitions.

One of the youngster's key attributes is the way he uses his 6 foot 2 height to impose himself on opponents, something that has been reflected in his performances for his loan club with Broja ranking third for the most aerial duels won in the opponents half and ranking fourth for aerial challenges contested in the Premier League.

As for Conor Gallagher, the player has become a stand-out star this season, winning Young Player of the Year at the London Football Awards this year and has been attracting attention for his impressive performances on loan at Crystal Palace.

Gallagher has been a force in midfield for Patrick Vieira, scoring eight goals and contributing three assists, creating five big chances, making 1.1 key passes and 2 tackles on average per game, as well as being successful in the majority of his dribbles (57%) proving he can be a huge attacking threat from midfield.

Both players offer attributes that could seriously enhance Everton's attacking threat next season and the club should be in a good position to tempt the players with a move to Goodison Park giving them another opportunity to work with their former manager who can offer huge influence and development from his experience as one of the most decorated attacking players the Premier League has ever seen.

With that being said, Everton must act fast to open negotiations and offer something attractive to the talented duo as they are hot prospects that will surely be snapped up quickly by other clubs if Chelsea decides to either sell or loan them out again next season.
