Everton: Frank Lampard “really wants” Armando Broja loan

Everton are in desperate need of a striker before the transfer window closes next week and now a reliable source has revealed the player that Frank Lampard is keen to sign in the position.

What’s the latest?

According to CBS reporter Ben Jacobs, the Everton boss “really wants” to sign Chelsea striker Armando Broja.

Jacobs quote tweeted an Everton transfer update from talkSPORT yesterday that read:

“Everton have asked Chelsea to include either Armando Broja or Conor Gallagher on loan as part of the deal to sign Anthony Gordon.”

The sports reporter responded:

“Lampard really wants Broja on loan.”

A rare Moshiri masterclass

Whether Everton want to loan or permanently sign Broja as part of a deal with Chelsea for Anthony Gordon, it would be a rare Farhad Moshiri masterclass in the remaining days of the transfer window.

Moshiri is renowned for his reckless spending and poor transfer decisions, but using the London club’s serious interest in Gordon to negotiate a deal that can give Lampard a player he desperately needs would be a fantastic piece of business from the owner.

With Dominic Calvert-Lewin injured and Richarlison making a move to Tottenham Hotspur this summer, the Toffees are currently without a reliable and prolific striker to occupy the centre-forward role at Goodison Park, but the signing of Broja could be the perfect solution.

Indeed, the Albanian international who West Ham bid £30m for this summer, is no stranger to former Chelsea boss Lampard with the now Everton manager giving the young talent his Premier League debut back in 2020.

As a result, despite Broja only having one full season of first team football under his belt earned whilst on loan at Southampton last season, there is no doubt that Lampard knows the striker’s strengths and weaknesses which will allow him to effectively deploy him in the team to make an instant impact in the front-line.

The 44 year old former Premier League midfielder lavished praise on the 20-year-old machine who scored nine goals for the Saints last season, hailing Broja “very talented” in a pre-match press conference earlier this year:

“He’s a very nice, very good lad and a very talented young boy.”

“He’s fast, strong, has a real eye for goal and he’s a very, very good young player so I’m very aware of his strengths.”

With that being said, it would be the perfect opportunity for Lampard to continue to develop and polish up Broja’s talents at Goodison Park which could give Everton a reliable striker option for years to come, so Moshiri must do everything in his power get the deal done.
