Everton are interested in the signing of Emmanuel Dennis from Watford and the Nigeria international could be Frank Lampard's own version of Jarrod Bowen should he swap Vicarage Road for Goodison Park.

Recent reports have suggested that the 24-year-old is on Everton's list of targets as they look to strengthen their attacking options following the departure of Richarlison to Tottenham Hotspur last week.

Dennis, who could cost £20m, was one of the standout performers for Watford last season as they were relegated back to the Championship and it seems as if he could be on the move after being left out of the Hornets' pre-season trip to Austria.

The former Club Brugge man would contribute ten goals and six assists in 33 Premier League appearances for Watford, averaging a solid 6.89 rating from WhoScored for his performances.

This ranked him as the club's best performer in the top flight last season, so it is easy to see why he is attracting Premier League interest ahead of next season.

Meanwhile, no player in Everton's squad would contribute as many goals and assists as Dennis, which suggests that he could add some much-needed quality to Lampard's attack should he join this summer.

If he does make the switch, he could feature as a winger in Lampard's side, supporting Dominic Calvert-Lewin in a more central role.

According to FbRef, Dennis' playing style as a winger is comparable to West Ham's Bowen, with the England international ranked as the third-most similar player to the Nigerian.

The two registered very similar scores in terms of goals per 90, shot-creating actions and shots per 90 last season, which suggests that both have an eye for goals and assists.

Considering the former Hull City man was one of the standout performers in the Premier League last term and earned himself a call-up to the England squad, Everton would do very well to have a player similar to that on their books next season.

Therefore, Lampard will surely be hoping that the Toffees can complete a deal for the "very talented" Watford man ahead of the transfer window closing.
