According to Le10Sport, Everton are interested in bringing back Chelsea defender Kurt Zouma in this transfer window.

What's the word?

The France international spent a season on loan at Goodison Park when Marco Silva signed him back in the summer of 2018, with the centre-back establishing himself as a regular, playing 36 games across all competitions.

Now, French publication Le10Sport claim that Chelsea are prepared to listen to offers for the defender, and that according to their information, the Toffees are pushing hard for his signing.

The report further adds Frank Lampard's side are looking for a figure around €40m (£36m) in order to be convinced.

Great signing for Ancelotti

Having seen first-hand what Zouma can bring to the table at Goodison Park, it's no surprise to see Marcel Brands look to bring the Frenchman back to Merseyside in this summer transfer window.

Speaking after a series of impressive performances for the Toffees, Silva said: "I am really pleased, to be really honest with you. Really pleased. I took the decision in the last day of the market. I had the name in my mind, always, and was in contact with people who are close to him but I had that solution in mind, even if you know the club doesn’t want to sell him.

“But to be honest with you, I see many, many conditions in which he can improve, and he knows because I speak to him everyday what I am demanding of him. But I am really happy with him, he is improving, trying, he is a good professional, he is happy in our club, he is a good team-mate and a really important player."

If the Toffees are to spend big money on a new centre-back, then Zouma can make the case that he would be the most sure-fire in terms of being a guaranteed success. He has racked up plenty of Premier League experience with the likes of Everton and Chelsea, and if Brands can get this one over the line, then it would be a masterstroke.
