Fabrizio Romano has provided a big update on Richarlison's future at Everton...

What's the talk?

Italian journalist Fabrizio Romano told his Twitch chat [07/07/21], as transcribed by Goodison News, that Richarlison will not be leaving Everton this summer. Romano has stated that the Brazilian will play for the Toffees for at least one more season and will not be signing for Real Madrid.

”There’s nothing between Real Madrid and Richarlison. Everton and Rafa Benitez are convinced the Brazilian will stay at the club for at least one more season.”

The Spanish giants had been linked with a possible swoop for the Everton attacker, following Ancelotti's return to La Liga after a spell on Merseyside.

Fans will love it

Everton fans will love this update from Romano as it will ease any fears of Richarlison being sold before the end of the transfer window.

It appears as though the supporters will be able to enjoy his talents for at least another season, although Romano's comments do not bode well for anyone expecting Richarlison to be at the club in the long term, with the Italian hinting at a potential transfer next summer for the forward.

The centre-forward has scored 33 Premier League goals in three seasons for Everton since his move from Watford in 2018, averaging a WhoScored rating of 6.89 or higher in each campaign. This shows how influential the Brazilian has been for the club and why keeping him could leave Everton fans delighted as he has been one of their side's best performers in recent years.

Earlier this year, Ancelotti lavished praise on the attacker and highlighted his physical qualities as some of his biggest strengths as a player, whilst adding that he can become one of the best players in Europe.

He told GOAL:

"Richarlison is a modern striker, a complete striker, because he works really hard. His physical statistics are really high, like a midfielder - but he has speed and he is really clinical in the box.

"He is fantastic with the head and clinical in front of the goalkeeper and his movement without the ball is really good.

"I think he can be one of the top strikers in Europe. I'm sure he can because he has all these kind of qualities and he doesn't have a specific position on the pitch. He is really complete."

Not only does this show why the Italian boss may want to link up with him again in Madrid, but it also emphasises the quality he possesses and why this update from Romano is a major boost for the club.

Hopefully, Richarlison will be able to consistently provide goals in the upcoming Premier League campaign and continue to put smiles on the faces of the Toffees faithful.
