Marcus Bent reckons that Aaron Ramsey's goalscoring ability would make him a great assett to Everton's midfield should they sign the Welshman.

According to reports from Italy believe that the Turin giants are keen on getting the 30-year-old off their wage bill this summer having failed to see him deliver since joining from Arsenal two years ago.

Ramsey, who starred for Wales at Euro 2020 as they reached the knockout stages once again, has scored just six times and added as many assists in 65 appearances across the previous two seasons.

But whilst those goalscoring figures are nothing special, Ramsey once scored 16 times in a single campaign for the Gunners and reached double figures in three of his final six seasons at the Emirates.

Meanwhile, not including Gyfil Sigurdsson's efforts, Abdoulaye Doucoure was the only other Everton midfielder to get on the scoresheet last season – with no less than four players failing to do so.

With that in mind, Bent recognises the importance of Ramsey's instincts in and around the box.

He exclusively told Football FanCast:

"I think what comes with Ramsey is his maturity and his experience. He's been on the world stage for a long time now, talented footballer, goalscorer, and to have that in the midfield at Everton would be key.

"But speaking to Everton, they know that there's going to be big clubs in for him, he's going to be tagged around, whether that will be the top-four, I'm not sure. I don't think he would turn Everton down."
