Everton could be set to hand Sean Dyche his first transfer as the new boss...

That's at least the thinking of transfer insider Dean Jones, who wrote in his column on Sunday night for GIVEMESPORT about the potential dealings that the Toffees could manage before the window slams shut.

With attack a huge problem area, the mention of Tottenham Hotspur forward Lucas Moura will be a welcome one despite it seeming like a tough deal to do due to his current £90k-per-week deal.

Jones claimed rather succinctly: "Lucas Moura has been discussed but they feel his wage demands may be too hefty."

Richarlison 2.0

Although the Brazilian boasts a differing skillset to Goodison Park favourite Richarlison, there is cause to believe that he can come in and be the talisman that is so sorely needed at the club.

They are severely lacking in personalities, with few prepared to stand up when the chips are down and just drag their team through.

Moura boasts one of the most iconic moments in recent history of performing such an act when he scored his hat-trick against Ajax in the Champions League semi-final to send Spurs through.

It was an act that saw him lauded as a "legend" by journalist Thierry Nyann, in what was just three of 15 goals he scored in all competitions that season.

The 30-year-old has always been a pretty consistent goalscorer for the Lilywhites, but it is his electrifying pace that will surely excite Evertonians most in their quest for survival.

With starts in short supply this campaign, mostly due to the arrival of Richarlison, it seems a shame for a man who recorded 14 goal contributions just last season to play little part in the Premier League.

He boasts immense quality and experience, and should he join the Blues he could have a transformative effect in the second half of the season. There is a desperate need for someone to replace the ten league goals scored by their former Brazilian marksman.

What earmarks him as someone who Dyche might enjoy too is his work rate, with his defensive metrics outlining him as someone more than capable of excelling on the right wing of a 4-4-2. Moura ranks in the top 6% for tackles, the top 1% for interceptions and the top 8% for blocks when compared against other wingers in Europe, via FBref).

This again mirrors the tireless attitude that saw Richarlison become so beloved.

Whilst he might be more of an out-and-out wide man, what Moura could potentially bring could resemble that of their hero last season. With a small fee but high wages, it is a risk worth taking to potentially keep them afloat.
