One of Everton's former players appears to be on the move this week and he could well come back to play against the Toffees this season...

What's the word?

According to Sky Sports, 22-year-old RB Leipzig winger Ademola Lookman is set for a season-long loan move to Premier League rivals Fulham before the transfer deadline.

It's been over a year since Marcel Brands sanctioned his exit to the Bundesliga outfit, raking in a whopping £22.5m for his signature.

Since then, the Toffees have signed Allan for £21.7m, Abdoulaye Doucoure for £20m and even nabbed James Rodriguez on a free transfer.

Daylight robbery

You've got to give it to Brands, he's got away with daylight robbery here. Over the course of 48 appearances, Lookman only managed to provide four goals and two assists, per Transfermarkt.

Whilst over in Germany, it's really not gone to plan having not featured off the bench at all this season and failing to deliver a single goal or assist from 13 appearances last term. He started just twice all campaign.

The 22-year-old, signed from Charlton, came to Goodison Park with so much promise - he was a regular at England youth level right up to the U21s - so it clearly has gone horribly wrong for him in his career.

Former Everton boss Marco Silva had "no doubts he will create big things in his career" and also labelled him a "fantastic footballer".

But with an xG of just 1.19 and an xA of just 0.98 last season, Lookman has clearly not lived up to the hype, which makes his sale look smarter by the day.

To get £22.5m for a player that barely cut the mustard in the Premier League is great going and perhaps one reason why they had to finances to sign the likes of Allan and Doucoure.

It's been a Brands masterclass once again.
