Everton are enjoying life to the new campaign having picked up a 100% win record from their opening two matches - and they have been rather impressive in both outings.

Carlo Ancelotti's side first defeated Spurs in north London before trouncing West Brom at the weekend with Dominic Calvert-Lewin notching a hat-trick.

The turnaround in fortunes has largely been down to a new-look midfield after a triple swoop for Allan, James Rodriguez and Abdoulaye Doucoure. It's like their engine room has instantly improved overnight and it's shown.

However whilst these additions are hugely encouraging, it shouldn't stop there and one mooted target delivered a sublime display later that day.

The Toffees have been linked with Wilfried Zaha for quite some time - last summer it was all but done but for an £80m asking price and more recently, it has been claimed that the Ivorian attacker would like to become part of the project at Goodison Park.

Crystal Palace devoured Manchester United on Saturday evening, winning 3-1 at Old Trafford and the 27-year-old was the protagonist to it all.

Zaha bagged a second-half brace, picking up a match-high 8.5 rating on SofaScore. He also recorded four key passes, earned five free-kicks, won seven duels and had a total of four shots at David de Gea.

It's this sort of presence that Ancelotti still lacks out wide - the likes of Bernard, Theo Walcott and Alex Iwobi aren't a scratch on the Eagles sensation.

Just six goals were scored between them last season, a stark contrast to the 26 that Richarlison and Calvert-Lewin managed, per WhoScored.

It's thought that Zaha could be available for just £30m this time around, which should set Marcel Brands' pulses racing as this would be a huge bargain, even on his reported £130k-per-week wages.

Roy Hodgson once lauded his star man as a "game-changer" and that much was shown in Manchester whilst summer arrival Eberechi Eze claims Zaha is an "amazing player" who "makes life a lot easier."

Well, on that basis, could you imagine the pressure he'd take of Rodriguez, Richarlison and DCL?

Zaha most definitely should be the next man the Dutch director of football tries to sign before the transfer deadline in two weeks time.
