With the World Cup finished, for many football fans attention turns to the start of the 2018/19 Premier League and more importantly the transfer window.

The window for English clubs has actually been open since May 17th because of it's new earlier closing date. But thanks to the World Cup, teams are only just starting the season's preparation this week.

With clubs tasked with having their business done before the start of the season on August 10th, we can expect any exciting conclusion for most clubs.

In this article we take a look at what business has already been done without you realising it because you were wrapped up in World Cup fever!

Jorginho to Chelsea

Announced on the eve of the World Cup final, you could be forgiven for not realising Chelsea had splashed an estimated £57million on Napoli's Jorginho.

The Brazilian midfielder will join up with Maurizio Sarri from Napoli and surely won't be the only arrival at Stamford Bridge this summer.

Fabinho to Liverpool

They've spent a fortune since, acquiring the services of Alisson Becker and Xherdan Shaqiri, but Liverpool's summer spending all started with the £44million signing of Monaco's Fabinho.

Lee Grant to Manchester United

We bet this one slipped under your radar!

After being relegated with his club Stoke City in the last campaign, goalkeeper Lee Grant would have been desperate to stay in the Premier League. Surely even he was surprised when Manchester United came calling.

It is expected that Grant, who signed for a reported £1.5 million will be Jose Mourinho's third choice keeper.

Ki Sung-yueng to Newcastle United

With his contract at relegated Swansea City ending on the 1st July, it was announced two days earlier that the South Korean would join Newcastle United.

The midfielder was influential in South Korea's World Cup campaign, most notably their 2-0 win over Germany.

Gerard Deulofeu to Watford

Deulofeu spent the second half of last season at Watford on loan from Barcelona, and despite only seven appearances for the Hornets, they have made the move permanent.

The pacy winger will be hoping to have more of an impact on the league now that he has made the move permanent after three loan spells (two at Everton).

Ben Foster to Watford

Foster was a fan favourite in his two loan spells at the club between 2005-2007 and helped the club win promotion to the Premier League.

So when Foster's West Bromwich Albion were relegated, a move back was always on the cards as he looked to stay in the top flight.

Andriy Yarmolenko to West Ham United

There have been many arrivals and a lot of money spent at West Ham this summer as the club looks to forget last season and move forward.

The signing of Ukranian forward Andriy Yarmolenko from Borussia Dortmund however was the most surprising. Surely the striker would have had other options around Europe?

Jonny Evans to Leicester City

Like his former team mate Ben Foster, defender Jonny Evans was always likely to move after West Brom were relegated from the Premier League.

With a £3million release clause, could Leicester boast the bargain of the transfer window?

Stephan Lichtsteiner to Arsenal

The international transfer window was just four days old when Arsenal announced the signing of defender Stephan Lichsteiner.

Leaving Juventus on a free transfer, Lichsteiner then went to represent Switzerland in Russia, before arriving in London ahead of the new season.

Naby Keita to Liverpool

Technically this deal was done in last year's summer transfer window, but RB Leipzig's Naby Keita finally arrived in Liverpool on July 1st 2018 for a sum of £62 million.

Fred to Manchester United

Shakhtar Donestk's Brazilian midfielder Fred was announced as a Man United player, during the World Cup, so there is no doubt this transfer has slipped under the radar.

But with a five year contract and a cost of £52 million, Jose Mourinho will be hoping for a big impact from his new signing.

Lukasz Fabianski to West Ham United

He was left in tears as Swansea City's relegation was confirmed on the last day of the 2017/18 season, but a month later the pain was gone and he became a West Ham player.

The Hammers who had goalkeeper trouble last season, will be hoping their £7million will be money well spent.

Rui Patricio to Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolverhampton Wanderers are making a statement this summer, having already acquired the services of Raul Jimenez and Leo Bonatini, they announced the signing of Portuguese keeper Rui Patricio.

The former Sporting Lisbon keeper won the European Championships in 2016 with his country and will be a welcome addition to the Premier League.

Dusan Tadic to Ajax

There haven't been many big name departures so far in this transfer window, but one that does stand out is Dusan Tadic's move to Ajax.

The attacking midfielder has been a Southampton regular since his arrival in 2014. It is rumoured that Ajax paid £11 million for his services.

Jean Michael Seri to Fulham

Jean Michael Seri's arrival at Fulham isn't a surprise, but what is shocking is the transfer fee.

It is rumoured that the Ivorian midfielder arrives from Nice for a fee of £25 million.

Daley Blind to Ajax

Man United's Daley Blind completed a move to Ajax on 17th July and although this isn't a shock in terms of the move, the rarely used midfielder still fetched for £18million.

A great deal for United you feel.

Yaya Toure - Released

It was no secret that Yaya and City boss Pep Guardiola didn't get on and the Ivorian wasn't part of future plans, ahead of the end of his current contract.

What is surprising is that there hasn't been a line up of Premier League teams vying for his signature, let alone the offers he should have from overseas.

Crystal Palace are rumoured to be interested but as of yet, Yaya is a free agent.

Emre Can to Juventus

Emre Can was another player whose contract was up at the end of the 2017/18 Premier League season. But an injury hit season stopped him from proving to Jurgen Klopp his worth.

The Turkish midfielder arrived at Juventus on a four-year deal.

Yohan Cabaye to Al Nasr

At 32, you have to believe that Yohan Cabaye could offer Crystal Palace or another Premier League club something.

But no, instead he revealed he had moved to Dubai based team Al-Nasr on a two year contract.
