This weekend saw all 20 teams play their eight game of the season, just before an international break.

With eight games played, we are starting to see who will be the teams fighting for the title and those that will be nearer a relegation battle.

There were a number of reasons to be watching the Premier league this weekend, would Mourinho manage his last Man United match, could Huddersfield and Cardiff get their first wins and who would win the top of the table game at Anfield?

We know the scores, we've seen the table, but how did we get there? Take a look through our article of everything you might of missed from the weekend's action.

Watch out for Sean Dyche and Neil Warnock's damming comments in their post-match press conferences!

Mahrez And Gabriel Jesus

With Sergio Aguero off the pitch, when Man City were awarded a penalty in the 85th minute at Anfield, everyone was left wondering who would take it.

Gabriel Jesus who had replaced Aguero was expecting to take it but was brushed off by Riyadh Mahrez who insisted.

Jesus' face was a picture when he was told to step away, we wonder what it was like after he watched Mahrez sky over the bar.

Ramsey's Goal

After losing his first two matches of the season, Unai Emery has certainly turned things around at Arsenal. What would have been a difficult fixture for Wenger's Arsenal at Craven Cottage was a walk in the park as the Gunners won 5-1.

The pick of the goals was their third, a real team goal from defence to attack which was ended brilliantly by an Aarom Ramsey flick.

Ralls Challenge

Cardiff travelled to Wembley in search of their first Premier League win of the season against Tottenham.

58 minutes gone they were 1-0 down but very much still in the game, until Joe Ralls hacked down Lucas Moura who was sprinting clear.

Cardiff ended up losing 1-0 after struggling to managed to break down Tottenham with ten men. Manager Neil Warnock had a lot to say in his post-match press conference about the Spurs players and how they surrounded the referee:

"I didn’t think it was violent conduct, I thought it was cynical. I think they (Spurs players) got Joe sent off today, he (Mike Dean) wasn't going to give a red."

Morgan's Sending Off

Another player who was sent for an early bath on Saturday was Wes Morgan.

The Leicester captain was guilty of a string of fouls against Everton players and was finally sent off by Mark Halsey in the 63rd minute.

The red card was Morgan's second in three games.

Matt Doherty continued his impressive form against Crystal Palace and scored his first goal of the season in a 1-0 win.

The 26-year-old was part of the Wolves squad that was relegated in 2012 and has seen it all.

His string of good performances were rewarded by being voted the league's fans' player of the month award.

Iceland's Gylfi Sigurdsson won the game for Everton with a stunning long range effort at the King Power Stadium.

The goal was the midfielder's 19th goal from outside the area since he made his Premier League debut back in 2012.

Barkley Finally Scores

Since joining Chelsea in January 2018, Ross Barkley has struggled to find the form that he had at Everton, but after Maurizio Sarri, the midfielder has started the season well.

After assisting Eden Hazard for the opener, Barkley, who was recalled to England squad this week, got himself on the scoresheet for the first time in a Chelsea shirt. He was over the moon.

Salah Still Struggling

Many believed that if Liverpool could sort out their defensive issues from last season, they would be serious contenders for the title this year.

That was in the confidence that Mo Salah would be still be firing on all cylinders, but once again the Egyptian was missing in the big game at Anfield on Sunday.

Depoitre Diving

Huddersfield travelled to Burnley in search of a first win of the Premier League season and in a desperate attempt to win a penalty Laurent Depoitre went down after a challenge from James Tarkowski.

However when Chris Kavanagh blew his whistle, he pointed the other way and showed a yellow card to the Terriers forward.

Sean Dyche Comments

Like Neil Warnock, Burnley boss Sean Dyche had a lot to say after his side's draw with Huddersfield, mainly about Laurent Depoitre:

"A booking is not enough, it's embarrassing, but embarrassing is not enough.

"I'm talking about the greater good of a fantastic game worldwide. I saw with my own eyes children diving the other week and parents applauding. That can't be right for a game like this.

"That today is embarrassing, I'm sure the player will be embarrassed, because most players are honest enough, they know what they've done."

Terry Retirement

With many believing that he is inline for the vacant Aston Villa job, former Chelsea captain John Terry officially announced his retirement from football on Sunday night.

Was his random timing a hint that he will be soon be given the job at Villa Park?
