The Premier League returns this weekend after a short international break that for once kept us entertained!

England's 3-2 in Spain once again captured the hearts of the nation, but now attention returns to the domestic league and for many fans, Fantasy Premier League.

Many FPL managers sensibly wait until all international games are over before making transfers ahead of the weekend's fixtures, just in case of injuries, just ask Mo Salah owners.

With Chelsea entertaining Man United on Saturday lunchtime in Gameweek Nine, many managers will be looking for alternatives to bolster their chances of scoring big points.

Scroll through with us as we take a look at the players you need to be considering bringing in to do just that.

Raheem Sterling

Fresh from his England heroics on Monday night, Man City's Raheem Sterling goes into this weekend's fixture with huge confidence.

Playing at home to Burnley, you can expect City's players to be among the goals on Saturday afternoon.

Infamous for his rotation policy, Pep Guardiola has actually only left Sterling out once this season, so you can expect him to start the game.

Benjamin Mendy

Another Man City player worth considering is left-back Benjamin Mendy who made his comeback from injury in the 0-0 draw with Liverpool last time out.

City will surely keep a clean sheet against Burnley at the Etihad, so Mendy will be good for at least six points, should he avoid a yellow card.

The Frenchman was left out of his nation's UEFA Nations League fixtures because of his recent comeback, so you can expect him to be fresh this weekend.

Gylfi Sigurdsson v Crystal Palace

One of the most in-form players going into this weekend's fixtures and with a favourable home game, Gylfi Sigurdsson is an almost certainty this week.

At home to Crystal Palace on Sky Sports' Super Sunday fixture, Sigurdsson's Everton face a side that is struggling to score goals and win games.

Richarlison Return?

After a great start to the season, Richarlison has been rather quite in recent weeks but was given a new role by Marco Silva in Gameweek eight, a role in which saw him back on the scoresheet.

Spearheading the Everton attack, the Brazilian opened the scoring for the Toffees away at Leicester. So like Sigurdsson we are predicting a big week for Richarlison.

Doherty v Watford

To be fair, you could probably add any of Wolves' defenders here, but Matt Doherty is the best pick of the bunch.

At £4.7 million, the right-back loves to get forward and scored the winner against Crystal Palace last time out.

Doherty is joint-fifth highest scorer in Fantasy Premier League so far this season.

Patricio In Goal

Like his defenders in front of him, Rui Patricio has been in top form at the start of this season.

The Portuguese goalkeeper has claimed four bonus points in the previous two gameweeks.

Lacazette v Leicester Instead Of Aubameyang

Arsenal's forwards have been in prolific form in recent weeks, scoring eight goals between them (four each).

But for us it has to be the Frenchman for this weekend's game against Leicester.

Lacazette is £1.1 million cheaper and hasn't been away on international duty, whereas Aubameyang has been helping Gabon in qaulifying for African Cup Of Nations action.

Leave Harry Kane

Kane may have scored twice last season when Spurs travelled to the London Stadium but if you are thinking of transferring the England captain in, then think again.

After West Ham this weekend, Tottenham have a run of very difficult fixtures in the next five weeks, including home games against Man City and Chelsea and away ties at in-form Wolves and Arsenal.

Josh Murphy

For managers looking to pick up some differential points, they can look no further than Cardiff's Josh Murphy.

The winger is owned by just 0.2% of FPL bosses and is steal at £4.8 million.

You have to think Cardiff simply must win games like at home to Fulham if they have any hope of staying up this year.

Aymeric Laporte In

Laporte was once again ignored by Didier Deschamps for a call up to the French national squad, so you can expect him to be fresh for this weekend's fixture with Burnley.

The 24-year-old is the only outfield Man City player to have played every minute so far this season.

Ricardo Pereira In

Leicester maybe away at Arsenal this week, but at £5.1 million, Ricardo Pereira is a great option for managers looking for a defender that gets forward.

In recent weeks Claude Puel has given Pereira the license to play like a right-winger, meaning he qualifies for a clean sheet bonus and has the opportunity for assisting the likes of Vardy and Iheanacho.

Matt Ryan In

Brighton's Matt Ryan is a great 'cheap' alternative option for managers looking to pick up those differential points.

The Australian keeper is always given the opportunity to make saves and with a game away at winless Newcastle, he could be on for a clean sheet too.

Raul Jimenez

We are aware that this is the fourth Wolves player we have suggested, but at £5.6 million you really cannot ignore Raul Jimenez as an attacking option.

The Mexican is in good form, producing a goal or an assist in each of the last four Gameweeks and was also on target for his national team this week.

Sturridge In

Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge has only played 43 minutes so far this season, but has two goals to his name, most notably the equaliser at Stamford Bridge in Gameweek seven.

With Mo Salah and Sadio Mane both coming back from international duty having picked up injuries, Klopp will surely give Sturridge the opportunity to start at Huddersfield on Saturday.

City Captain

Out of the top six, City's home fixture against Burnley is statistically the easiest, so you can probably be safe to make a City player your captain this week.

It's the kind of game where City will win 3 or 4-0 with three different scorers, just make sure you pick the right one.

King Or Wilson

Soccer Football - Carabao Cup - Third Round - AFC Bournemouth v Blackburn Rovers - Vitality Stadium, Bournemouth, Britain - September 25, 2018 Bournemouth's Callum Wilson celebrates scoring their third goal with Joshua King Action Images via Reuters/Peter Cziborra EDITORIAL USE ONLY. Bournemouth front duo were on top form in Gameweek eight as they fired their team to a comfortable 4-0 win away at Watford.

The pair have seven goals between them and a home game against Southampton could see them add to their tally.

Vietto In

Fulham travel to the Cardiff City Stadium hoping to get back to winning ways after a run of five games without one.

Luciano Vietto has four assists to his name so far this season and if Fulham are to win, it will probably be because of the performance from this man.

Partnered with Aleksandar Mitrovic, he is £1.4 million cheaper and as mentioned loves an assist.

Schurrle In

Andre Schurrle is another Fulham player FPL managers should be looking at this weekend.

The German scored his third goal of the season in gameweek eight and with Cardiff's big pitch, you can expect him to get lots of opportunities to add to his account this weekend.
