The first week in December always sees the first set of midweek Premier League fixtures as the festive period starts.

With many teams still in European competition playing nine games over the festive period, points are at a premium.

Man City and Liverpool managed to rotate their squads and come through tough tests at Watford and Burnley respectively, while United and Arsenal played out a 2-2 draw.

You know the scores but what about all the moments you missed, on a goals galore two days of Premier League action?

Sane's Chested Goal

Leroy Sane's recent return to the starting line-up has reminded all why he was awarded PFA young player of the year last season.

The German made it three goals in as many games on Tuesday night by chesting in Riyadh Mahrez's cross.

His awareness to see that he needed just the slightest of touches past Ben Foster was brilliant.

4/7 For Fabianski

Lukas Fabianski has faced his fair share of penalties in his Premier League career, so it's a good thing he's pretty good at saving them.

The West Ham stopper's first half save from Joe Ralls' attempt was his fourth save in his last seven.

Scare For City

Thanks to Riyadh Mahrez's goal, the Premier League leaders looked comfortable at Vicarage Road as they went into the dying moments of the game.

But a late goal from Abdoulaye Doucouré put the jitters into City and Pep Guardiola brought on Aymeric Laporte to sure things up defensively.

Doucouré's goal was just the seventh goal City have conceded all season.

Ederson No Look Pass

While 2-0 up City were comfortable all over the pitch, including goalkeeper Ederson who completed two 'no-look' passes to his defenders.

Mahrez Skill

Riyadh Mahrez looked like he was in his element on the right as Pep Guardiola left out Raheem Sterling and Sergio Aguero.

The Algerian terrorised Watford defender Jose Holebas in the first half and produced an outrageous piece of skill that saw Holebas yellow carded, purely because he had no option but to make the foul.

Duffy Headbutt

Brighton defender Shane Duffy has had a brilliant start to the season, but a moment of madness saw him see red in the M23 derby with Crystal Palace.

The Irishman was judged to have headbutted Palace defender Patrick Van Aanholt and will serve a three-match ban.

Fellaini Tries To Get Hair Back

You would think the newly trimmed Marouane Fellaini would be know that the pulling of hair is a foul.

The Manchester United midfielder was caught not just pulling but yanking Mattéo Guendouzi's hair, maybe a case of jealousy?

Arsenal boss, Unai Emery responded:

“I think the best thing is that he cuts his hair before the next match, then the problem is finished,” Arsenal’s manager said. “Just as Fellaini did. I have not told him that to his face, though. I respect a lot the players; their hair and their hair colour.”

Record Breaking Night

The first midweek fixtures of the Premier League season produced a record breaking night as all 20 teams scored.

According to statisticians OptaJoe, it was the first Premier League matchday since November 27th-28th 2010 in which all 20 Premier League teams scored.

Lucas Perez Finally Scores

Now at West Ham forward Lucas Perez has struggled to make his mark on the Premier League since his arrival at Arsenal in 2016.

The Spanish forward bagged his first two Premier League goals for West Ham as they beat Cardiff 3-1, 700 days after his last league goal for Arsenal.

Arnautovic Night To Forget

Although Lucas Perez will remember the night well, West Ham's Marko Arnautovic will want to forget his game.

The Austrian managed to give away a penalty, get yellow carded and pick up an injury inside 40 minutes at the London Stadium.

Horrendous for FPL managers.

Leon Balogun

Despite Shane Duffy seeing red, Brighton took a quick 3-0 lead against Crystal Palace.

One of those goals was scored by centre-back Leon Balogun who was brought on after Duffy was sent off, and found the net just 25 seconds after coming on from the bench.

Fulham's Unwanted Record

Unfortunately for Fulham, OptaJoe has also revealed that only one team in Premier League history has conceded more goals after 15 games than them.

Barnsley's 1997-98 season saw them conceded 40 goals after the 15th fixture, the Cottagers have 36 goals against them.

Fraser The Assist King

Bournemouth's Ryan Fraser is having a brilliant season and Gameweek 5 was no different.

The Scot claimed his seventh assist of the season, setting Callum Wilson after just four minutes, no one has more assists than him.

Career Best For Wilson

As mentioned Callum Wilson was on the scoresheet for Bournemouth, taking his season tally to eight in the Premier League.

The goal means the striker who made his England debut last month, has now scored the same amount of league goals as he did in his record breaking season last year.

Just the 23 games to beat his record.

Special Club For Warnock

The Cardiff boss became only the fourth manager to have taken charge of a Premier League game after their 70th birthday.

Warnock joins Sir Alex Ferguson, Sir Bobby Robson and Roy Hodgson in the exclusive club.

The Bluebirds boss turned 70 on Saturday with Tuesday's game seeing him become just the fourth man to take charge of a Premier League game after passing the milestone. He joins the legendary trio of Sir Alex Ferguson, Sir Bobby Robson and Roy Hodgson.

Klopp And Dyche Have Words

Sean Dyche and Jurgen Klopp were seen trading words as both walked off the pitch at Turf Moor after a pulsating 3-1 win for Liverpool.

It is believed Klopp was complaining of Burnley's physicality, a remark that the Dyche wasn't happy with.

Angry Chelsea Denied Penalty

Without context Chelsea's 2-1 defeat to Wolves looks like more evidence of Maurizio Sarri's team's poor run of form.

But the Chelsea players will have left Molineusx slightly aggrieved after Alvaro Morata was denied a stonewall penalty with the game 0-0.

Willy Boly clearing fouled the Spanish forward three yards from goal, despite what this camera angle shows, the French defender was nowhere near the ball.

Arsenal First Half Woes

Arsenal once again went into half-time without a lead.

That's now 15 Premier League games where they have failed to be leading at the break. But is it really an issue if they have only lost two of those 15?

Ralph Hasenhuttl At Wembley

New Southampton boss Ralph Hasenhuttl was spotted in the stands at Wembley as he watched his new team in action against Tottenham.

The former RB Leipzig boss wasn't appointed in time to take charge of the Wednesday fixture but will be on the touchline this weekend.

Lacazette's Genius Ruined

With the game at 2-2 at Old Trafford, second half substitute Alexandre Lacazette produced a cheeky moment where he nodded the ball out of David De Gea's hand.

Unfortunately, referee Andre Mariner deemed that De Gea was still in control of the ball and the fact he only one hand on it, doesn't mean the Frenchman could still it off him.

Correct decision by the referee as by the letter of the law;

"A goalkeeper is considered to be in control of the when: the ball is between the hands or between the hand and any surface (e.g. ground, own body) or by touching it with any part of the hands or arms except if the ball rebounds from the goalkeeper or the goalkeeper has made a save holding the ball in the outstretched open hand."

"A goalkeeper cannot be challenged by an opponent when in control of the ball with the hands."
