In the upcoming summer transfer window, teams all over the world will look at their squads and re-assess ahead of the 2019/2020 season.

In the Premier League, like any other division, some will decide to heavily invest and others will opt to sell, sell, sell - most will do a bit of both.

At the majority of clubs, certain stars must be sold after the end of the season for various reasons such as their quality, their attitudes, the way they fit, or don't fit rather, into the side and others.

In light of this, today we look at 25 Premier League players who we want to see on the move this summer...

Dominic Solanke - AFC Bournemouth

AFC Bournemouth made a very expensive mistake when they signed Liverpool striker Dominic Solanke for a fee of almost £20 million during the January transfer window.

The Cherries thought they were getting one of England's finest young attacking talents and a player with the potential to become the greatest-ever forward to put on the Three Lions shirt. In fact, they got a 21-year-old who's already suffered two significant injuries in his short career thus far.

It's hard to see Solanke becoming the consistent centre-forward AFC were after, given his injury-prone nature, without even touching on his tame form since his move to the south coast. The club must cash in this summer while they can get their money back - Jurgen Klopp's Reds knew something was up to let him go in the first place, after all.

Adam Lallana - Liverpool

Adam Lallana is undoubtedly the forgotten man in what has been another brilliant season for the Red Half of Merseyside under the leadership of Klopp.

The attacking midfielder has appeared just 16 times in all competitions and played no part whatsoever in Liverpool's Premier League title and UEFA Champions League challenges, contributing zero goals and zero assists.

Lallana is not getting any younger at 30 and the Reds, without doubt, need a better back-up option behind their deadly front three. With his contract up in a year, this summer may just present the final chance for the Anfield club to get any kind of fee for the former England international.

Simon Mignolet - Liverpool

The fact that Simon Mignolet is still the primary second-choice goalkeeper of Liverpool is astonishing and one that should change this summer, with his sale.

Should Alisson get injured as it stands, the Belgian veteran would be the number one at Anfield for a period of time and the Merseysiders would be back to square one in terms of their goalkeeping crises' of years gone by.

Mignolet is only 31 and as a goalkeeper, is set for a career that will last at least another half-a-decade or so, therefore there are still plenty of clubs out there that would take him, making Klopp's side a penny or two in the process.

Vincent Janssen - Tottenham Hotspur

The fact that most Tottenham Hotspur fans won't remember Dutch frontman Vincent Janssen still plies his trade for their club is sure sign that he needs to go in the summer.

The 24-year-old only has a year left on his contract and hasn't impressed during his time in north London to date, plagued by poor form, injuries and non-selection.

It's time for Mauricio Pochettino to give up on his £19.98 million experiment and hope that the move doesn't backfire as the player still has the prime years ahead of him. It's a gamble for the Lillywhites, but the kind one they have to take to compete at the highest level.

Fabian Delph - Manchester City

There was much promise and excitement at the Etihad Stadium when central midfielder Fabian Delph swapped Aston Villa for Manchester City in July 2015.

Back then, his abilities matched those of the City team prior to Pep Guardiola's reign and he was a strong addition, now that plainly isn't the case anymore with the masses of talent the Citizens have bulked their squad out using since.

Delph is, especially when you look at his injury record before even assessing his quality, a waste of a squad place in Manchester in this day and age. Guardiola should look to offload him in the summer and replace the England man with a real superstar to fit his rich tapestry.

Yerry Mina - Everton

Everton centre-back Yerry Mina is widely considered to be one of, if not the, worst signings of the 2019/2020 Premier League season.

The former Barcelona man has got Toffees hoping that they had signed him on loan from Barcelona, like Andre Gomes, instead of getting a rush of blood to the head and snapping up the Colombian international for £27.23 million last summer.

This is down to a mixture of struggling to adapt to the most competitive division in the world and injuries. But regardless, Marco Silva needs centre-halves whom are up to the task now to replace the ageing central defensive core at Goodison Park. And Mina is not that - sell up in the summer.

Lucas Perez - West Ham United

Lucas Perez has caused nothing but problems behind the scenes at West Ham United since he joined from Arsenal in the summer 2018 transfer window and that's why they should let him go in this one.

The 30-year-old may have chipped in with the odd goal for the Hammers in 2018/2019 but hasn't been the same player when he's started matches and failed to establish himself as a starting Xl regular, as well as displaying a bad attitude.

Manuel Pellegrini already has Javier Hernandez to do Perez's job and if he too exits in May, June, July or August, should look for a fresher back-up striker. And as for the Spaniard himself, he will be able to find a new team with ease, though maybe not in the Premier League.

Marcos Alonso - Chelsea

Chelsea need to get rid of their Jekyll and Hyde left-back Marcos Alonso in the summer transfer window to avoid further damage to their defence moving forward.

The Spanish international blatantly isn't a good enough defender to be the first choice at Stamford Bridge and his attacking prowess often distracts everyone from that.

Alonso is great going forward and perhaps should consider a change of position, but not in west London. There are plenty of top quality left-sided full-backs out there for Maurizio Sarri's men and it should be the job of the recruitment team to find them one to replace the deficient Spaniard ahead of next campaign.

Shkodran Mustafi - Arsenal

Shkodran Mustafi may still only be 27 but he's performed like a veteran centre-back who's forgotten how to defend this season, especially in the latter part as the Gunners have fallen out of the race for the Premier League top four.

The German international often makes the blood of members of the Emirates Stadium faithful boil with his dreadful, costly mistakes and all-around shoddy displays in the centre of defence.

Unai Emery must execute a defensive overhaul in the summer transfer window and it needs to start with the sale of Mustafi and the purchase of a proper replacement. Just imagine what Arsenal could achieve with a consistent centre-back leader.

Willian - Chelsea

Maurizio Sarri's Chelsea will serve the first window of their two-transfer-window FIFA ban from signing players for breaching rules regarding the capture of international players under the age of 18 this summer, meaning sales will be at a premium.

However, one star they can afford to and should get rid of is Brazilian Willian, ever becoming surplus to requirements at Stamford Bridge and eating up wages while contributing little.

The emergence of Callum Hudson-Odoi from the academy and the pre-ban-agreed arrival of Borussia Dortmund's Christian Pulisic at the end of the campaign will help to overload the attacking wide areas in west London, pushing Willian further towards an exit anyway.

Mesut Ozil - Arsenal

The sale of Mesut Ozil in the summer 2019 transfer window would solve a lot of problems at Arsenal, however, we've only got time to tell you two of the reasons why the Gunners should get shot of the German.

The first involves the harmony of the squad and the entire club in general at the Emirates Stadium as it would eradicate the issue of the uncertainty over whether the 30-year-old is in favour or not.

The other is more of a footballing reason, Ozil's crippling inconsistency. One day, he's the Gunners' dream creative midfielder and the next he can go missing entirely. By upgrading the 2014 FIFA World Cup winner to a more reliable number ten, Unai Emery can sure up his central attacking midfielder.

Alexis Sanchez - Manchester United

Manchester United's £30.6 million signing of Chilean international attacker Alexis Sanchez from Arsenal in January 2018 is perhaps the worst in the club's history.

And Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and those above him must realise that it's only logical to stop trying to make the disastrous move work and give up this summer, putting the 30-year-old on the transfer list whilst he can still fetch a fee.

Sanchez has never been able to cope at Old Trafford and never will, especially not as he enters his 30s. The time should be up for the left winger and the Premier League, it's been fun but it has to end here.

David de Gea - Manchester United

The conclusion of another affair at Old Trafford should be nigh, one that so nearly ended one transfer window a number of campaigns ago, the one between Manchester United and star goalkeeper David de Gea.

This season has seen the Spanish international display terrible runs of form and look an entirely different player to the one that was picking up Player of the Year awards for fun for the Red Devils just a couple of years ago.

However, some of the other giants in European football, such as the one he found himself a dodgy fax machine away from joining in summer 2015, still appear to be interested in the shot-stopper. And a transfer now would be the best thing for both club and player.

Paul Pogba - Manchester United

Many thought that the arrival of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer as Jose Mourinho's replacement would pacify Paul Pogba's desire for a move away from Old Trafford - and it looked to have at the beginning.

However, as the new gaffer's early luck begins to run out, the France midfielder has seemingly grown impatient and once again wants to end his three-year association with Manchester United.

Instead of allowing the 26-year-old to continue to damage the mood at 'The Theatre of Dreams' with his poor attitude, the Red Devils need to give Pogba what he wants in the summer transfer window. The astronomical fee they could attract for him would soften the blow of his loss - in the long-term it would eventually be seen as a positive decision.

Ashley Young - Manchester United

Over the years, Ashley Young has been a fantastic servant for Manchester United, one of the few shining lights of the first couple of years of the post-Fergie era.

The England international has helped United to a Premier League, an Emirates FA Cup, an English League Cup, a UEFA Europa League and three FA Community Shields.

However, despite the 33-year-old recently signing a contract extension, performances of late at full-back surely prove to Ole Gunnar Solskjaer that Young is simply not up to it. The likes of Luke Shaw and Diogo Dalot deserve better competition and that needs to be facilitated through the sale of the number 18.

Ben Chilwell - Leicester City

Our next Premier League star that needs to be sold in the upcoming summer transfer window comes from Leicester City - left-back Ben Chilwell.

The big boys, including Manchester City, Liverpool and Arsenal, have been circling around the 22-year-old and it's little surprise given his outstanding form for club and country in 2018/2019.

Biting the bullet and welcoming a massive cash injection is an opportunity the Foxes have to take whilst there's so much high-profile interest in the 22-year-old. That's if they can use the money to sign the right replacement, such as Kieran Tierney of Celtic.

Phil Jones - Manchester United

For too long Manchester United have been putting up with average-at-best showings from their centre-backs, namely the likes of Chris Smalling and Phil Jones.

But it's the latter they should definitely cash in on this summer transfer window, allowing Ole Gunnar Solskjaer and Ed Woodward to free their club of more deadwood, a sure crowd-pleaser.

Jones' age and international experience may well help the club's board to provide the war chest needed to add fresher centre-backs to the fold as there's little doubt that the 27-year-old could still offer something to a side in Europe's top five leagues.

Claudio Bravo - Manchester City

Former Barcelona goalkeeper Claudio Bravo's time at Manchester City has been a strange stint, only featuring as number one for Pep Guardiola's men for his first season before being overtaken by new signing Ederson and sinking into obscurity.

The Chile legend is 36 now and still the main back-up to his Brazilian teammate, but he needs to step aside and allow the Citizens to take their last chance to make any profit on him with his contract up in summer 2020.

This is because one of the brightest young shot-stoppers around in 20-year-old Kosovan international Arijanet Muric sits below Bravo in the pecking order. He deserves to be number two at the Etihad Stadium.

Marcos Rojo - Manchester United

Marcos Rojo is another Manchester United man that has to go in the clearout that is set to take place at Old Trafford during the months of May, June, July and August.

The 29-year-old is a handy centre-back to have around, one that can also chip in with important goals at the other end of the pitch, although once again, his outsider, back-up job should be being done by someone much younger who's learning their trade.

Rojo is soon to be 30 and losing the pace of the Premier League quickly, also clearly no part of Ole Gunnar Solskjaer's long-term plans - as evidenced by his mere three appearances thus far during the reign of the Norwegian.

Robert Snodgrass - West Ham United

During the first half of the first season of Manuel Pellegrini's tenure at West Ham United, a rejuvenated Robert Snodgrass was a breath of fresh air at London Stadium.

However, post-Christmas, apart from the odd piece of magic from a set-piece, the Scottish international has been a different player and it looks like his sensational exploits before the New Year have finally caught up with him.

The truth is that those few months were probably the best we're ever going to see again from the 30-year-old Snodgrass and West Ham should cut their losses now with the attacking midfielder. Quit while you're ahead with Snodgrass, Hammers.

Matteo Darmian - Manchester United

The seventh and final Manchester United man to feature on our list of 25 Premier League stars who need to be sold this summer transfer window is right-back Matteo Darmian.

The 29-year-old has nearly left Old Trafford more times than David de Gea and been an ever-present fringe player for the Red Devils this campaign after he surprisingly didn't leave last summer on loan or permanently.

It has been apparent for some time that Darmian can't quite cut it in the Premier League and certainly not at a giant like United. If the club are going to move forward under Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, the former Italy international is the kind of defender that needs to be axed.

Eliaquim Mangala - Manchester City

What? Eliaquim Mangala still plays for Pep Guardiola's Manchester City? Yes, and he's in a very similar position to the one of Matteo Darmian at rivals Manchester United.

The French centre-back hasn't made a single senior appearance for the Citizens during the 2018/2019 campaign, despite only being injured for the first couple of months.

If Guardiola is going to keep players like club legend Vincent Kompany and persist with a very populated central defensive core, then 28-year-old Mangala has to go and undoubtedly will in this window.

Davide Zappacosta - Chelsea

From one forgotten man to another, Antonio Conte signing Davide Zappacosta, who has appeared a mere three times in the Premier League this term.

The fact that someone just 26 is in the position of only really being used in the cup competitions shows that something's wrong. Maurizio Sarri clearly doesn't believe in the right-back and why would you have players in your team that you don't have faith in?

The Blues' transfer ban will give them the opportunity to blood youth, including their some 40+ currently out on loan - Zappacosta's place in the squad should go to one of the bright starlets at Stamford Bridge.

Danny Drinkwater - Chelsea

Any sales made by Chelsea during the duration of their two-window ban from signing new players should go into future transfer kitties and developing youth stars, but more so the latter.

Another sale that they can certainly make without too much backlash in any regard is that of central midfielder Danny Drinkwater.

Eyebrows were raised when the West Londoners forked out the best part of £35 million to sign the injury-prone 29-year-old from Leicester in summer 2018 and as predicted, the move hasn't worked out in the slightest regard. Drinkwater does not belong at Stamford Bridge and shouldn't remain there for much longer.

Sebastian Prodl - Watford

Watford are yet one more Premier League side that have allowed themselves to become over-populated in the central defensive region and that's why Sebastian Prodl is the final piece of the jigsaw that is our gallery of 25 English top-flight players that need to be sold in the summer transfer window.

At 31, the Austrian international offers very little to Javier Gracia's Hornets anymore and if they're going to push themselves up into Europe, they can't afford to be carrying passengers.

Prodl is vastly experienced and there shouldn't be a shortage of clubs looking to snap him up in the window, perhaps one of the newly-promoted teams will seek his savvy or a move back to continental Europe will be on the agenda.
