BT Sport launch the Young FA Cup Presenter of the Year competition

BT Sport have an exciting chance in stores for young aspiring journalists as the Young FA Cup Presenter of the Year is officially underway.

The winner will win five tickets to this year’s FA Cup final at Wembley and a chance to record an interview that will be featured in BT Sport’s coverage.

Contestants are required to record a one minute, single-camera-shot of themselves, using a smartphone or a professional camera, presenting a news story regarding the Cup final. The shot should only include the participant and no additional graphics, music or interviews.

All recordings need to be uploaded on YouTube and the URL should be sent to BT Sport.

Here are three useful tips by BT Sport presenter Jake Humphrey:

1. If anyone out there has the ambition to be a sports broadcaster, a sport presenter or work in television, don’t let this opportunity pass you by.

2. Be yourself. Nobody wants to see someone trying to do the same as me, or Gary Lineker, or Clare Balding.

3. Be a bit different. There’s no point in being the same as everybody else.

To participate, you need to be a UK resident aged 13-16 and you must have a parent or guardian’s consent.
