Yesterday’s Serie A transfer roundup focused on Genoa’s interest in Lucas Biglia, Napoli’s pursuit of Mauro Icardi and Fiorentina’s eyes on Radja Nainngolan. Today’s edition discusses Patrick Cutrone’s move to Wolves, Angel Correa’s potential switch to AC Milan and a rumoured bid from a top Italian club for Wilfried Zaha.
Verdict: Wolves will be hoping that they are signing the player from 2017/18 rather than the one from last year. In the former, the Italy U21 international scored 18 goals in 46 games for the Rossoneri, but could only manage half of that in 43 outings last time out. For Milan’s youth team, though, he was prolific, so the indications are that he won’t freeze in front of goal. From the selling club’s perspective, they need to move players on this summer if they are to bring anybody new in considering they were recently banned from European competition after breaching FFP rules. This was therefore on the cards and both teams will be happy with the outcome.

Report: According to Calcio Mercato, AC Milan are still in talks with Atletico Madrid in regards to the signing of Angel Correa. The Spanish side are said to be looking for €50m (£45.6m), whilst the Rossoneri are offering €40m (£36.5m) plus bonuses.
Verdict: Milan’s pursuit of Correa is likely to be one of the reasons why Cutrone has moved on as the San Siro outfit look for funds. The Argentina international has been a regular for Diego Simeone since arriving from San Lorenzo in 2014, having played at least 26 games in each of his four full seasons in La Liga to date. The past campaign was by far his least prolific from a goal contribution point of view, though, which may have given Los Rojiblancos food for thought. The 24-year-old is a good player and has proven that during his time in Madrid, but Milan already have Samu Castillejo and Suso on the right-wing. Correa can play on the left or as a second striker, though.

Report: Napoli are preparing to launch a bid of £60m for Wilfried Zaha according to The Daily Mail. The Ivory Coast international is said to be open to a move abroad and the Serie A outfit hope that Crystal Palace might be more willing to talk to a non-Premier League club.
Verdict: Carlo Ancelotti is now turning his attention to Zaha following the failure to sign Nicolas Pepe, who has completed a move to Arsenal. Palace have an £80m valuation of the 26-year-old, but a foreign switch may be more to their liking and could convince them to lower their demands. The Partenopei are lacking at right-wing, with just 32-year-old Jose Callejon to realistically rely on, and Zaha would fill that void. Last season, he scored 10 goals and provided 10 assists in the Premier League, which is his best return to date. There will need to be some negotiation and Palace will need to work with Napoli to agree a deal, but with the Italian club’s eagerness to bring him in and the former Manchester United man’s desire to leave, an agreement could be reached.
