HYS: Should Mkhitaryan start vs Tottenham?

On paper, Henrikh Mkhitaryan is one of Manchester United’s most important players. Offering scintillating speed on the break and creativity in the final third, the Armenian international is an integral link between the midfield and the attack and has laid on the most assists of any Red Devil in the Premier League this season.

But in reality, the 28-year-old has struggled to convince since moving to Old Trafford from Borussia Dortmund in 2016. He failed to hold down a consistent role in the first team last season and although he began the current campaign in fine form, his performances have drawn heavy criticism in recent weeks. He’s not actually scored or assisted in the top flight since the 4-0 win over Everton in September.

The Old Trafford outfit face a huge test in the Premier League this weekend in the form of Tottenham Hotspur, who have a perfect record on the road this term with twelve points gained from four games.
