Jose Mourinho may be unable to stop Chelsea lifting this season’s Premier League title, but he can at least claim some personal pride after beating his former employers for the first time since he left the club in December 2015.
Indeed, the Blues gave Manchester United a bit of a pasting during their two trips to Stamford Bridge earlier this season, but the Red Devils fought back with a bang on Sunday – producing a committed, convincing and incredibly controlled 2-0 victory at Old Trafford.
Marcus Rashford opened the scoring after just seven minutes when he latched onto a telling pass from Ander Herrera, who then doubled the lead after half-time to severely reduce any chance of a late Chelsea comeback.
