Despite a rather chaotic final half hour that saw two goals conceded and Serge Aurier sent off for a particularly petulant lunge, Tottenham Hotspur came away from the London Stadium on Saturday with all three points from a thrilling 3-2 with West Ham.

The damage was mostly done in the first half when the Lilywhites twice capitalised on sloppy work by substitute Andy Carroll to hit the Hammers on the counter, both goals supplied by Dele Alli, albeit the second by way of a rebound, and finished off by attacking accomplice Harry Kane.

Christian Eriksen netted what proved to be the winner after the interval when he latched onto a loose ball at a set piece by drilling it past Joe Hart, while Jan Vertonghen produced another assured display at the back and Moussa Sissoko's earned a special mention from some pundits for an improved performance in central midfield.
