Vice captain James Milner has been forced to settle for a bit-part role so far this season, making just two out of a possible seven starts in the Premier League.
But with Liverpool’s biggest home fixture of the campaign just around the corner, the timing feels right to bring arguably the most experienced member of Jurgen Klopp’s squad back into the starting XI.
After all, the versatile midfielder-come-defender has faced Manchester United more times than any club throughout his career, although he’s accordingly lost to them the most times as well – a rate of 16 defeats from 32 outings.
With that in mind, we asked Liverpool fans earlier this week whether Milner, who Transfermarkt value at £10.8million, should start against the Red Devils in Saturday’s 12.30pm kickoff and according to our poll, a whopping 73% think he should.
So, Liverpool fans, with Milner getting the nod from the faithful and Sadio Mane absent through injury, how would you line up Klopp’s boys this weekend? Let us know by commenting below…
