Just when the Premier League’s title race seemed all done and dusted, Manchester United threw a spanner into the works on Sunday, beating table-toppers Chelsea 2-0 at Old Trafford.
It was a phenomenal performance from start to finish considering how impressive the opposition have been this season, not allowing the Blues a single shot on target and controlling the match throughout.
Marcus Rashford opened the scoring after just seven minutes, justifying Jose Mourinho’s decision to start the youngster against his former club and his unexpected utilisation of a 3-5-2 formation.
The United gaffer also put Ander Herrera on Eden Hazard in a man-marking role, yet it was the Spaniard who had the bigger impact on the scoreline – setting up Rashford with a telling pass before putting away United’s second, via a fortunate deflection, following the interval.
Easily the best performance and biggest victory of Mourinho’s Manchester United tenure this far, Red Devils stars have been quick to revel in that winning feeling on Twitter.
Here’s a look at how Michael Carrick, Ander Herrera, Jesse Lingard, Marcus Rashford, David De Gea and Marouane Fellaini reacted to the win…
