3-4-3 has been Antonio Conte’s tried and trusted system ever since it put Chelsea on a 13-game winning run that essentially made them impossible to catch in the Premier League title race last season.
At this point, the Blues know the system incredibly well. But so do a number of their rivals, which perhaps explains why Conte has looked to vary the formation upon facing high-quality opposition this term.
Indeed, the unexpected use of 3-5-2, with one midfielder playing just behind the striker, inspired a last-gasp win over Tottenham Hotspur at Wembley and an emphatic victory against Atletico Madrid in the Champions League on Wednesday night.
So with that in mind, we asked Chelsea fans earlier this week whether Conte should revert back to his trusted 3-4-3 or stick with 3-5-2 for the huge Premier League clash with Manchester City on Saturday.
We were expecting some dispute over the issue but according to our poll, a staggering 83% of Chelsea fans think Conte should line up his side using 3-5-2 this weekend.
But will that be enough to stop Man City’s rampant attack, Chelsea fans? Let us know by commenting below…
