Perhaps the biggest positive Tottenham can take from their 2017/18 campaign thus far is the flexibility Mauricio Pochettino has shown. The Argentine appeared a staunch idealist during his first few seasons in English football, rarely deviating from 4-2-3-1, but last season saw the introduction of 3-4-3 and the Lilywhites have even lined up with a back five in Europe this term.
Accordingly, Pochettino has some key decisions to make before his side face Liverpool in the Premier League on Sunday, especially considering the north Londoners haven’t actually beaten the Reds in any competition since 2012.
With that in mind, we asked Tottenham fans which approach Pochettino should take at Wembley this weekend; retaining possession in the way we expect of the Lilywhites or looking to hit Liverpool on the break.
And perhaps because Liverpool’s defensive weaknesses are so well-known, 67% of Spurs fans think using the counter-attack is their side’s best chance of beating the visitors at Wembley according to our poll. What do you think the score will be on Sunday? Let us know by commenting below…
