Liverpool and Tottenham Hotspur are very much kindred spirits, incredibly talented sides yet seemingly always overshadowed by their more illustrious regional rivals.

Indeed, respective managers Jurgen Klopp and Mauricio Pochettino have both forged impressive teams rather than focusing on high-quality individuals, and both insist upon a fast-paced, energetic and attacking style of play.

With that in mind, we were keen to discover the fans' opinions on the opposition ahead of Saturday's 5.30pm kick-off, so we asked Liverpool supporters earlier this week to vote for which Spurs stars they'd like to see Klopp sign in the coming transfer windows.

Well, the votes from exclusive poll have been counted and we can now reveal the top THREE...

3. Toby Alderweireld

It always seemed as if a fragile backline would catch up with Liverpool at some point this season and that's certainly been the case in 2017, with the Reds conceding 13 times already since the turn of the year. And it appears Kopites view Tottenham's Toby Alderweireld as the ideal solution; in stark contrast, he's one of the key aspects of a Spurs defence that boasts the best goals conceded record in the Premier League, shipping just 16 goals in 24 top flight fixtures. Physical and dominant in the air yet confident on the ball and exceptionally composed, many now rate the Belgian as one of the best defenders in the division.

2. Mousa Dembele

One of the more understated members of Spurs' starting XI, Mousa Dembele rarely receives the attention he deserves. After a few years in the wilderness, the Belgium international has really found his place under Mauricio Pochettino, offering a unique mix of stocky strength, guile and creativity in the engine room. Few players in the Premier League use their body with the same effectiveness as Dembele and having been transitioned from a forward player to a deep-lying midfielder, he'd certainly suit Jurgen Klopp's attacking mantra.

1. Dele Alli

He's the Premier League's Player of the Month and was once nearly tempted into signing for Liverpool, who wanted Steven Gerrard to convince the then-MK Dons youngster into a Merseyside switch. Dele Alli joined Spurs instead and has since emerged as one of the most exciting young players in European football, proving the difference in countless Lilywhites results with his natural flair, netting prowess and ability to arrive in the box at just the right time. It's no surprise Liverpool fans want Alli at Anfield and he's another who'd suit the Klopp philosophy perfectly, as he's famed for using his athleticism to press high on opposition defences.
