It’s hard to remember a time when Danny Rose’s future at Tottenham wasn’t seemingly in doubt but the Premier League and the European transfer deadlines have both now passed – so the England international will be staying in north London until January at the earliest.
In fact, Mauricio Pochettino even brought the left-back into the fold for Tottenham’s biggest game so far this season, unexpectedly starting both him and Toby Alderweireld in the 3-0 win over Manchester United at Old Trafford.
But it was Ben Davies who started last time out in the 2-1 defeat to Watford and the 41-cap Welshman had a largely minimal impact on the match – not registering a single tackle and making just one chance going forward as he failed to replicate the dynamic threat Rose has become synonymous with in the No.3 role.
