Sepp Blatter back in trouble, FIFA in chaos

FIFA president Sepp Blatter is at the centre of more chaos this week as he stated that he will not step down as the head of the footballing body.

Blatter, who told reporters that he “had done nothing illegal or improper”, is once again facing mass backlash from fans of the beautiful game.

Michel Platini, Blatter’s UEFA understudy, is also involved in the scandal after it was revealed that he took a payment of £1.6million from the FIFA chief to back him for re-election.

Blatter is also being investigated for alleged TV distribution rights involving Jack Warner, who this week has been banned from all footballing activity for life.

It is clear that the situation surrounding FIFA is worsening by the second, and with it confirmed last week that the 2022 World Cup in Qatar will go ahead as a winter tournament, fans are becoming increasingly frustrated with the organisation.
