Fabregas has been instrumental in firing Arsenal to the top of the table but the title race is far from over

Prior to the start of the season, with the threat of Man City looming large many picked Arsenal as the weak link in the big four and tipped them to fall out in favour of the side from Eastlands.

Many believed they were vindicated in their selection following defeats to Man City but more importantly Chelsea who dominated Arsenal at the Emirates. But since that drubbing on November 29th the north London club have not lost a single game and dropped just 4 points in drawing with Burnley and Everton thus roaring back into the title race but also to the head of the table.

Having not been in the position since August, it must be a massive confidence boost for the club to seem themselves on top of the mountain even if it is by virtue of scoring more than Chelsea. Yet they must show caution.

Many Arsenal supporting friends of mine seem to be under the impression that the league ended last night and if the players adopt such a mentality the season could yet end up a fruitless one as with 16 games yet to go the title race is far from over, the same way it was far from over when many in the media seemed to think that Chelsea had the title wrapped up after their victory at the Emirates.

The season has been full of ups and downs for all teams involved in the title race and Arsenal’s next four league games could really determine the shape of their season.

By 10 pm on the 10th February they will have faced Aston Villa, Manchester United, Chelsea and Liverpool, not an easy run of games for any team and following this we should have a clearer depiction of the title race.

Arsenal have proved the doubters wrong before but the true test comes in this spell, I personally think this run of games will see the wheels come off Arsenal’s wagon but with their current position and depending on the number of points they pick up they will certainly still find themselves in the fight for the title.
