Tottenham’s transfer policy is baffling at the best of times and why the club felt the need to loan out Hutton and Naughton is beyond me, especially as Corluka remains the only fit full back at the club. I suppose Kaboul can play there if need be, but you have to question the logic in letting both leave at once.

The signing of Gudjohnsen was seen as a positive move by most Tottenham fans and in my own personal view Eidur is arguably better than what we have already got in terms of a partner for Jermain Defoe, but you do question whether it was really was an essential signing this January, as scoring goals has hardly been a real problem for us this season. Having watched Tottenham home and away season the lack of a midfield general has been a real missing ingredient this season and someone that can boss the rest of them.

I am sure that I’m not the only one who was expecting to see the arrival of Sandro this January, especially given all the speculation and the noises that Redknapp was making in December over the Internacional star. Quite what happened here is anybody’s guess; however it appears that this supposed link up with Tottenham and the Brazilians is a far but smooth partnership as was otherwise hoped. It would be nice to think the club would shed some light on it for supporters, given it is an area that Harry hinted he will need to improve in centre midfield during this transfer window.

Harry isn’t wrong and too many times this season we have found ourselves get overrun in midfield, especially in key games. Palacios certainly hasn’t lived up to the performances that followed his arrival and with him misfiring; we lack something when we are up against it. Nobody bosses the midfield and takes the game by the scruff of the neck, especially when we are defending a lead or trying to impose ourselves in a game. Tom Huddlestone is an extremely talented footballer, but he’s hardly a general on the pitch.

So what is the feeling about our transfer policy this window and do you feel that we should have bent over backwards to secure a midfield general of sorts? Were we right to let both right backs leave on loan and have we taken one hell of a gamble in not bringing in a decent understudy for Heurelho Gomes?
