Football Manager is a series of simulation games developed by Sports Interactive and published by Sega. The first edition of the football management game came out in 1992 under the name Championship Manager, published by Eidos Interactive. In 2004 Sports Interactive retained the rights to source code from Eidos Interactive, but were forced to change the name of the 2005 edition to Football Manager. This lead to the current partnership with Sega.
FM has been released every year since, with the 2006 edition becoming the second-fastest-selling game of all time in it’s first week. Other highlights include being 1st in UK all-format charts for Football Manager 10 and 11 as well as maintaining the 1st spot for most of the FM2012 and FM2013 editions.
Football Manager 13 was released on Microsoft Windows and Mac OS X on 2 November 2012. FM2013 shows great improvements in the 3D match engine, giving player movements, stadiums, and pitches a more realistic look. The way your team trains is completely new, such gaining training badges and send the team to train camp. The Football Manager Classic mode is feature added 2013 that allows gamers to complete a season in under 8 hours, with assistant managers taking care of training and media.
Football Manager also continues to grow its interactive online play by adding Network Play, which allows users to set up leagues and cups with friends as well as monitor their position on a worldwide leaderboard.
