Espanyol ace Hector Moreno has reportedly expressed his desire to join Arsenal ahead of rivals Manchester United, according to reports from the Express.
Moreno was heavily linked with a move to the Premier League in previous transfer windows after some impressive performances in the Spanish La Liga, with Tottenham Hotspur another club keen on his services.
The defender has excelled ever since his return from a long-term injury, but it has been suggested that Moreno is looking to ply his trade in the English top flight, preferably at the Emirates.
The Mexico international is valued at £15million by Espanyol, but with Moreno extremely desperate to play under Arsene Wenger, the fee could be significantly lowered by his agent.
The 27-year-old moved to the Periquitos from the AZ Alkmaar in the summer of 2011, and has been an integral part of the squad since his arrival.
During the 2014 World Cup, Moreno broke his leg playing against the Netherlands and only recovered in November, limiting him to just 22 games this season.
