Chelsea midfielder Ramires has moved to cool talk of a move away from Stamford Bridge this summer, with Serie A outfit Juventus and La Liga giants Real Madrid being linked as potential suitors.
The Brazilian international has been quoted as saying:
‘Juventus and Real Madrid are two of the biggest teams in the world,
I’m flattered that my name has been linked to them, but I know nothing of any negotiations. I’m just thinking about Chelsea and doing my job here.’
Ramires, who joined Chelsea from Benfica in the summer of 2010 for £18million, had made, prior to this season, 173 appearances for the Blues across the Champions League and Premier League. However, this season the 27-year-old has found opportunities hard making just four starts combined across both competitions.
Ramires signed a new deal with the west London-based club in March 2012 – that expires in 2017.
