Chelsea have been boosted in their chase for Shakhtar Donetsk star Douglas Costa, who praised Blues boss Jose Mourinho ahead of a potential summer switch, Express reports.
‘Douglas’ has been heavily linked with a move to Stamford Bridge in recent weeks, with the Brazil international even revealing his desire to leave Ukraine and fulfil a transfer to the Premier League.
And he has fuelled more fire to the speculation after lavishing praise on Mourinho, who he thinks is the best manager in the world of football.
He said: “Eventually the time comes when you get tired of playing always in the same league. I’m 24 years old and it is worth trying to tell people that I want to go.
“We have a wonderful coach in Mircea Lucescu, but I think it’s time for a chance and I think Mourinho is the best in the world.”
The 24-year-old joined Shakhtar in the 2010, and has become an integral part for the Ukrainian side that won four consecutive league titles, but were runners-up to Dynamo Kiev this season.
Douglas has played 32 games in all competitions this season, scoring five goals and supplying seven assists.
