Manchester United have had a £20million bid for Morgan Schneiderlin rejected by Southampton, according to the Independent.
Schneiderlin has been heavily linked with a move to Old Trafford in recent weeks and the Saints have agreed to let the midfielder leave this summer.
However, the St. Mary’s club are adamant that they receive £24million for the France international, who was also a target for Arsenal and Tottenham Hotspur.
Therefore Southampton have turned down United’s £20million bid, forcing the Red Devils to up their offer if they want to bring Schneiderlin to Manchester.
United have also been in the pursuit of Bayern Munich star Bastian Schwweinsteiger, but it looks like the Germany international is looking to stay at the Allianz Arena and win a fourth consecutive Bundesliga title.
Roma’s Miralem Pjanic is another name being rumoured to be targeted by Man United, but the Bosnia-Herzegovina star has been valued at a much higher £32million.
